Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister Katia Aveiro has defended her brother after criticism of his absence from the funeral of Portugal team-mate Diogo Jota.

Ronaldo missed the funeral in Gondomar on Saturday. Which was attended by friends, players, staff and family of Jota and brother Andre Silva, who died in a car crash in Spain. Players
including Bernardo Silva, Diogo Dalot, Joao Cancelo and Ruben Neves were all present, but Ronaldo chose not to attend. He has reportedly told Jota’s wife and parents that he does not want to be exposed to the media if he does appear. However,
there has been widespread criticism in Portugal that the captain should not neglect his duties or relationships to such an extent, with many calling it unacceptable.
Now, Ronaldo’s sister Katia has taken to Instagram to say that the 40-year-old’s decision to skip the event. Was a wise one and slammed those who criticised him for not being truthful.
“When my father died, our family was exposed to the media and curiosity. หากคุณสนใจเล่นพนันออนไลน์ที่ดีที่สุด สามารถสมัครสมาชิก UFABET ได้ที่นี่ พร้อมรับโปรโมชั่นพิเศษสำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ There was no privacy. We hardly left the church,” she said. “We had to wait until the funeral to see if there was a way,” Katia said.
“The president of the national team, the coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. Came to the funeral, but I didn’t see anyone because we were all in too much pain to care.”
She added: “Some people who have not experienced this pain will never understand what true support is… If someone sends me a message that is bad for Ronaldo, I will block them immediately, without thinking. “
Society is sick. They care more about who doesn’t come than to respect the family that is in pain. I feel ashamed when I see the news.”
Earlier, Ronaldo had a heartfelt tribute to Jota and his brother on Instagram, saying: “It makes no sense. We just got together in the national team and you just got married… I send my condolences to his family, wife and children and wish them the strength to get through this time. Rest in peace Diogo and Andre, we will miss you all.”
Although Ronaldo has not directly spoken to him about not attending the funeral, he has reportedly spoken to Jota’s family by phone to offer his condolences and support in every way.
