Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has admitted that financial constraints prevented the club from strengthening in the January transfer window after impressing during the opening weekend.

The Greek transport tycoon bought Forest in 2017, having previously owned Olympiacos, and guided them to promotion back to the Premier League in 2022 for the first time in 23 years. The

East Midlands side were heavily linked with a number of signings that summer. Helping them survive in their first season, finishing 16th and 17th the following season. Forest have made

an impressive start to the season, finishing sixth after 14 games. Speaking to สมัคร ufabet Sports,

Marinakis revealed his plans for the January transfer window. “We have Financial Fair Play rules which limit our spending from being unlimited,” the Greek billionaire said.

However, Marinakis did not appear to be lacking ambition in the interview. And was asked whether Forest could play in Europe. He also said the club should be aiming for the top. “I’m aiming higher and I think you have to believe in your dream,” he said. “Of course it’s hard work. It might take longer, maybe years, but you have to have the right mindset and always have unattainable goals. ” But you have to try your best, so it’s a matter of time, patience, hard work and belief.

” For me, that’s the target from the beginning. When I first said it, people said I was crazy or this bloke was crazy, but for me it’s important, otherwise I wouldn’t do it. ” If Forest weren’t a big team I wouldn’t be involved, but for me this team is the memory I have [of Forest in the 1980s].”
