Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has brushed aside media questions over whether the Football Association has approached him to take charge of the England national team.

    The FA has announced the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as the new manager of the Three Lions, with the main task ahead being the 2026 World Cup, which they aim to win.

    The FA reportedly approached Pep Guardiola and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti before settling on Tuchel, whose contract with the Citizens expires in the summer of 2025.

    However, Pep decided to avoid answering the question of whether he had been contacted, while congratulating Tuchel and the FA for working together.

And speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon ahead of Manchester City’s meeting with Wolves in the Premier League this weekend, Pep Guardiola issue a relatively spiky response to questions on whether he had been approach by the FA over the England managerial role.

    “Thomas Tuchel is the manager. I congratulate them, the FA and Thomas on this great job,” Pep said. “I wish England – I’ve been here for nine years – success for both.”

    The media tried to press the same point whether Pep had been contact or not. He replied: “Thomas Tuchel is the manager, so forget about it. I’m the manager ยูฟ่าเบท of Manchester City. Forget about it. Nothing else matters.”
